Thank you for entrusting us with your care.
Masking Guidelines: Respiratory virus season is upon us once again, and beginning November 24, 2025, enhanced masking will be in place in clinical areas across both hospitals. This
measure will help to protect our vulnerable patients from infection, and will
also help to keep our frontline healthcare workers safe and healthy throughout
the respiratory season.
Updated mask requirements for the respirator virus season:
- Family caregivers and visitors are expected to wear a mask in patient rooms, but this would not be enforced beyond encouragement and reminders (with the exception of outbreak situations and patients on additional precautions).
- Masks continue to be required for everyone coming into the Emergency Department (ED) and in the ED waiting room.
- Masks are highly recommended in all other outpatient areas.
- As always, people with respiratory illness who are unable to reschedule their visit will be required to wear a mask for the entire time they are in the hospital.
Enhanced masking is being implemented because we are starting to see higher rates of respiratory illness across Huron and Perth, and Provincial surveillance data is projecting Ontario-wide increases in respiratory illness in the coming weeks.
