HHS Celebrates Facilities Teams During National Recognition Week
October 12, 2025
This
week, Huron Health System (HHS) proudly joins the national celebration of
Healthcare Facilities and Engineering Week, a special time dedicated to
recognizing the exceptional work of its facilities teams, the individuals who
keep Alexandra Marine and General Hospital (AMGH) and South Huron Hospital
(SHH) safe, functional, and running smoothly every day.
Although
patients and families may never meet them, the impact of their work is evident
from the moment someone steps through the hospital doors. Behind the scenes,
these teams ensure that the environment supports safe, efficient, and
uninterrupted care. From responding quickly to urgent issues to coordinating
with contractors and service providers, their dedication ensures that hospital
operations remain seamless. Whether planning for the installation of new
equipment, solving problems on the fly, or juggling competing priorities across
departments, they consistently bring ingenuity, flexibility, and a “can-do”
attitude to every task.
“These
dedicated teams are hands-on in every corner of our hospitals,” said Jimmy Trieu, President & CEO at Huron
Health System. “They support patient care in ways most never see, but everyone
depends on. We are truly grateful for their commitment and the critical role
they play.”
As the
winter months approach, their attention to detail becomes even more apparent, preparing
heating systems, clearing sidewalks, and spreading salt to prevent slips and
falls. They’re always
thinking ahead, ensuring patients, staff, and visitors can enter our facilities
safely and without disruption.
HHS
encourages everyone to join in recognizing and thanking these professionals for
the vital work they do, not just during this special week, but all year round.
