Meet David Crockett
After a 40-year career in community and teaching hospital pharmacy and administration, Dave is pleased to have the opportunity to serve on Huron Health System's Common Board of Directors.
He began his career in hospital pharmacy, serving on provincial and national associations while helping advance the use of technology and safe medication distribution systems in hospitals across Toronto and London.
This experience led to executive leadership roles supporting more than 50 clinical and diagnostic departments at a London hospital. He was later seconded to help plan the clinical program alignment of seven hospital sites governed by five separate boards. Following the success of this initiative, Dave was appointed the first integrated Vice President serving all London hospital sites and boards, where he helped lead program restructuring, facility renovations, and major capital redevelopment projects over a 16-year period.
Throughout his career, Dave learned quickly that communities care deeply about their local services, that respecting the unique and valued role of every organization is fundamental to effective planning, and that bringing together the talents and strengths of partners across the healthcare system is the best way to optimize care for residents.
Dave and his wife, Marcia, have been married for 51 years and have enjoyed living along the shores of Lake Huron for the past 34 years. They have two married sons and five grandchildren. At age 26, Dave made a lifelong commitment to plant one tree for every week of his life. Over the past five decades, he has planted between 50 and 100 trees each year and helped establish ReForest London, a community initiative dedicated to planting one million trees.
