Qualifications:

  • Current registration and certification of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Undergraduate degree in Nursing preferred)
  • Current BCLS certification
 

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in medical/surgical-related nursing
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Basic Cardia Arrhythmia certification or equivalent
  • Code White certification
  • Meditech knowledge and experience
  • Experience in the following an asset: hemodynamic monitoring, central/arterial lines, chest tubes, non-invasive ventilation, and intubation
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification an asset
  • Fetal Health Surveillance (FHS) certification an asset 

 

Abilities:

  • Excellent physical head-to-toe assessment skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a variety of patient conditions
  • Ability to understand and interpret cardia monitoring
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • Good attendance and work record is essential
  • Self-directed, motivated team player with a commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education
  • Sound critical thinking, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills 
  • Consistently meets attendance expectations, demonstrating reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts.
