The Booking Clerk under the direction of his/her immediate supervisor, is responsible for effectively and efficiently performing the clerical duties required in the area in which employed.
- Medical Secretarial/Administration
Diploma required
- Medical
Terminology Course required
Experience:
- 1 to 5 years
recent Booking Clerk experience (within the last five years)
- Meditech and
Community Wide Scheduling experience of minimum six months in the last two
years
- Working in
Hospital experience preferred
- Customer focused
and track record of positive patient relations
- Excellent
computer skills and demonstrated knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent
interpersonal/communication skills and telephone skills
- Interpersonal and
communication skills – a high degree of tact, judgement and confidentiality
- Professional
Demeanour and excellent attendance are required
- Proficient
keyboarding skills and physical ability to perform duties
- Sort, prepare,
review and file various documents
- Well organized
and able to efficiently handle multiple schedules
- Willing and able
to work rotating shifts, weekends and statutory holidays
- Ability to work
with minimal supervision and desire to work in a team environment
- Able to work with
frequent interruptions, changing priorities, and in stressful situations
